I går blev årets Harvey Awards uddelt ved en ceremoni på Baltimore Comic-Con. “Saga” blev aftenes store vinder med tre priser, heraf to til tegneren Fiona Staples.
Staples blev kåret som bedste tegner og forsideillustrator, mens “Saga” blev bedste serie. Andre markante priser gik til Mark Waid (Daredevil) som bedste forfatter, Terry Moore (Rache Rising) som bedste tegneserieskaber og snart Art Bubble-aktuelle David Petersen (Mouse Guard) for bedste grafiske album med tidligere udgivet materiale.
The Harvey Awards er opkaldt efter MAD Magazine-grundlægger Harvey Kurtzman og er én af USAs to store tegneseriepriser – den anden er The Eisner Awards.
Hvert år hædres en lang række tegneseriekapaciteter i et væld af kategorier, fra tegnere og forfattere til tekstere og farvelæggere. Vinderne udpeges Oscar-style af tegneseriesskaberne selv. Den samlede liste over årets nominerede og vindere (med fed+kursiv) ser således ud:
