Komiks.dk har i år taget et temmeligt stort hop opad i forhold til de andre år i Valby kulturhus – og jeg fanger mig selv i faktisk at være ganske imponeret over størrelsen på festivalen i år.
Jeg brugte omkring 25 af de 30 minutter jeg havde inden festivalen åbnede på ikke at kunne finde den stand jeg skulle stå i. Det lykkedes dog til sidst – og jeg var endelig en fri fugl til at løbe rundt og more mig som jeg ville – blandt et utal af blege tegneserie elskere.
Jeg møder Ole Comoll og Palle Smith fra Tegnestuen Gimle i mellemgangen ved Faraos Cigarers stand. Begge er lidt fortørnede over den rimelig voldsomme slåskamp, der var opstået imellem Palle og Thierry ved prisuddelingen fredag aften.
Nu var jeg jo (desværre) ikke selv til stede under den famøse prisuddeling, men jeg havde husket at aflevere min båndede takketale.
Derfor kan jeg ikke selv berette blodige detaljer fra optøjerne. Jeg har opsnappet fra flere pålidelige kilder, at slagsmålet startede allerede under forretten. Thierry var ved et uheld kom til at bede Palle om at række ham smørret til højre. Her vil alle os, som har læst Palles serier, vide at dette absolut ikke er velkomment i Palles verden (til jer andre – Blodets konkubine side 47-49 – Its some heavy shit).
Jeg syntes det var en rimelig heftig begyndelse på en festival, som jeg havde forventet, ville forløbe fredeligt. Jeg har endnu ikke glemt 2008′s heftige bordfodbold opgør mellem Gimle og Pinligt Selskab, men hey drenge – jeg havde faktisk forventet, at I ville have begravet stridøkserne nu.
Men ja, lidt internt fnidder er der jo alle steder …
Jeg var blevet så forgyldt, at jeg havde fået lov til at have base på min skoles stand (læs: to klap-haveborde).
Jeg havde ikke forventet en guldplads forrest i salen, men jeg blev godt nok lidt muggen da jeg fandt ud af vi var blevet placeret helt nede bag forhænget i bunden af hallen.
Jeg efterlod de fleste af mine svenske klass-kompiser til at sejle deres egen fanzinesælgende svenskersø. Fordi tiden var kommet til min egen tegneserie mission.
… som historien står skrevet, gik mit eget tegneserie-salgs-crusade ganske fornuftigt.
Jeg blev kun smidt ud fra et sted, jeg ikke burde være, en enkelt gang. Jeg fik kun én lussing, og jeg kom hjem med tegneserier, fanzines og badges for næsten 400 kr.
Derudover fik jeg mig en god samling dankort, et norsk pas og en masse gratis kaffe.
Nu hviler min serie indtil videre hos forlag. Navne skal ikke nævnes her, da jeg kan få brug for at bevise min uskyld senere.
Det er egentlig tankevækkende.
For kun fire år og to Komiks.dk siden sad jeg med svedige håndflader foran Torben Hansen fra Free Comics til et portfolio review.
Her fik jeg nådesløst bladret mine tegninger igennem med Torben mumlende noget a al “Møg – møg – møg – mere møg – kedeligt møg – røv møg”.
Nu sidder jeg så her. Jeg har lige tilbragt en vinter på SU foran et tegnebord under lysstofrør i Sverige og tegnet til mine hænder faldt af. Min første tegneserie indtil videre og venter på henrettelse hos forlæggerne … og nu er jeg lige pludselig det helt store nye – med bloggelog og det hele.
Det blev jeg altså lige nødt til at drikke en cappuccino på. Hos Joe and the Juices specialindrettede Komiks.dk-butik, hvor en kop kaffe selvfølgelig koster 40 kroner, da mælk jo er meget dyrt at transportere over distancer på mere end 15 km. Med en overbetalt kop kaffe til – bliver det hele jo sat lidt i perspektiv.
For hey – hvem har brug for at lave tegneserier og networke – når man kan få sit navn ud på at skrive en blog om hvor meget inde i ‘la milleu’ man allerede er?
